Privacy Policy

The short version: the files you convert never leave your device. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and tool use, and Google AdSense to show ads. Both use cookies, and in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland they ask for your consent first.

Your files

Every tool on gifmaker.shop runs in your browser. Videos, GIFs and images you open are read and processed on your device and are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We can’t see them, store them or recover them. When you close the tab, they’re gone from the page.

What we collect

We don’t have accounts, forms or a database of users. What we do receive comes from two Google services:

• Google Analytics records page views and one event when a tool finishes a file: which tool, the output format, its width, its size in kilobytes, how long it took and, on the Discord page, whether it fit the emoji limit. It never records file names or file contents. Google Analytics also collects the usual technical data (approximate location from your IP address, browser, device type, the page that referred you) and sets cookies to tell visits apart.
• Google AdSense shows the ads. Google and other ad technology providers it works with use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure them.

Your browser also sends the usual request data (IP address, browser, the page requested) to our web host when it loads a page. The host keeps standard server logs for security and troubleshooting.

Advertising and cookies

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s Ads Settings. You can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices. Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are off by default. A consent message from Google asks what you allow, and nothing is stored for analytics or personalized ads until you agree. You can change your choice at any time through the privacy settings link that message provides. Without consent, Google may still show non-personalized ads.

Elsewhere, analytics and ad cookies are on by default. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.

Browser storage

The tools themselves don’t set cookies or keep anything in your browser’s storage. Your settings reset when you reload the page.

Children

gifmaker.shop isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to its use. Since we hold no accounts or files, most of that data sits with Google; its privacy policy explains how to exercise those rights there. For anything about this site, email [email protected].

When this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top.
