About gifmaker.shop
gifmaker.shop is a small set of free tools for making and fixing GIFs: video to GIF, GIF to MP4, captions, Discord emoji, petpets. Each tool does one job, opens fast and doesn’t ask you to sign up.
Your files stay on your device
Most online converters upload your video to a server, convert it there and send the result back. We don’t. When you drop a file here, your browser reads it, decodes the frames and builds the GIF or MP4 inside the page you have open. The file never leaves your phone or computer, and there’s no upload wait and no server-side size cap.
That works because modern browsers can decode video themselves (through an interface called WebCodecs) and because the heavy lifting runs in a background thread, so the page stays responsive while it works. Where a browser can’t decode a format, we tell you instead of quietly sending the file somewhere else.
The GIF encoder is our own. It picks a 256-color palette from frames spread across your clip, dithers the gradients, and skips pixels that didn’t change between frames. We measured it against ffmpeg’s standard high-quality GIF settings on real footage before publishing a single page.
What pays for it
Ads on the pages, placed around the tools and never inside them. Analytics tell us which tools people use, so we know what to fix and build next. The privacy policy explains both, including the cookies.
